RAJKOT : THE COLOURFUL CITY

A chance of meeting with a stranger on the streets of Rajkot sparks of the beginning of knowing the pure soul spirited city of Gujarat. Walk the streets at any time and you will meet people who are lively, vibrant and festive. Sprawling Rajkot, located on the banks of River Aji and Nyari, is the capital centre of Saurashtra. Rajkot is also known as "Rangilu Rajkot" meaning colorful Rajkot. The people of Rajkot like to enjoy to the fullest no matter which season or time of the day.






The world’s 22nd fastest growing city among all around the globe is none other than “RAJKOT”. It is also among the fastest growing urban areas from 2006 to 2020. Leicester is the sister city of Rajkot. Leicester and Rajkot twinning association is going to build Leicester house with collaboration of RMC in Rajkot. Rajkot is also a jewel of Kathiawar and also known as the place where Mahatma Gandhiji spent the early years of his life,  when his father  was a diwan or prime minister of the Saurastra’s king. This city is a combination of the modern layered over the traditional and it is the Rajkot's uniqueness that attracts people from various parts of the country to come and settle in the heart of Kathiawar. Rajkot became the first state to voluntarily merge with the Indian. Rajkot is famous for its jewellery market, silk embroidery and watch parts. Rajkot is also famous for its gold purity. It has one of the largest gold markets in India. It is also growing up in Software Industries and ITeS. Interesting places to visit in Rajkot are Aji river, Lalpari Lake, Randara Lake, Kaba Gandhi's Gate, Jagat Mandir, Rashtriya Shala etc...
